An Homage to a Non-Other Half

you loved me more

(2017)

“According to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. Fearing their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemning them to spend their lives in search of their other halves…” –Plato

A series of self-portraits of the artist over layered with the face of past loved ones, who have been removed from her path in life. In a way, they are memorials to her psychological state, when the past relationships become present. They were ways for the artist to deal with that loss and leave those emotions into the works and move forward.
